Dear listener,

You are holding in your hands RÜÜT's second full length studio album "Kadakad" (Junipers), that sums up the five years we have been active. During this time, we have grown closer together and have realised that although the various backgrounds of our members enrich us, still to us our common attitude to music and creativity is more important. We dare to experiment, break boundaries, search new sounds and clever solutions and wish to explore untouched parts of ourselves and in our music. Although our music is based on Estonian traditional music, we would not like to limit ourselves with a specific genre but keep all doors open instead. Due to that every piece of ours has its own character taking the listener to a journey on different soundscapes. On this album, we offer in addition to folk music arrangements also original pieces by each of our members.

Junipers symbolize endurance and longevity. They take a lot of time to grow but once they are ripe they smell heavenly. Junipers also symbolize the meeting point of the sea and the land, border areas that are both in nature and in culture the richest. The title of the album "Kadakad" (Junipers) expresses our ensembles deep respect for nature and for folk music and our wish to preserve and protect these sources of inspiration.
